What Is Youthscape?
Short answer: A yard care and home remodeling service.
Long answer: A community-creating culture that focuses on empowering youth through encouraging growth in skill and character and providing opportunities to demonstrate this growth.
How Does Youthscape Accomplish Their Mission?
At Youthscape, we strive to look into areas of need and find solutions. Some of those areas include:
-Hiring those in need. Not all of our employees come from such places, but our goal is to hire those who might have difficulty finding other jobs.
-Volunteering in and building the community. A company garden, regular volunteer days, and opportunities for communities to ask for help are all part of our business model.
-Pampering your yard and creating personalized space in your home. Though it may sound silly, we really do care about the way your yard and home looks! Not only does it reflect on us, but we believe that the home is where the quality of life is made. If we can provide a beautiful, relaxing space for you to enjoy, then there is that much more ability for you to give of yourself to those in and outside of your home.
-Giving those we work with freedom and responsibility so that they can demonstrate their talents and skills.
-Other ways and more details can be found in our community section»
Is Youthscape a non-Profit?
Though we debated going the non-profit route when establishing Youthscape, we ultimately decided that it was best set up as a for-profit business. However, Youthscape is looking into becoming aligned with B Corporations as the desire within the company is to be socially, environmentally, and economically aware and sustainable.
Is there Anything I can do to Help?
Yes! And we like your enthusiasm! There are always opportunities to help within our growing business or the community we are connected to. So please, contact us, letting us know what skill set you might have or if you just want to get connected with volunteer opportunities. Need a job? Let us know that and we'll get you set up with an interview!
Is the first service Really Free? (Basic Yard Care)
Short answer: YES!!!
Long answer: YESSSSS!!! But really, the first service is our chance to give you an accurate estimate* of what it will cost to service your yard weekly and for any extras you may want. So, in order for you to accurately see what that would look like on a weekly basis without risking an arm and a leg, we offer a one time free** service to those who are starting with us.
*Though it is more accurate than the ol’, “let me eyeball it,” it may not be the final word on all pricing.
**If you are looking for temporary service we ask that you pay for the first service. Change your mind and want us to return weekly? Great! We’ll refund your first week’s cost.
If your lawn is 6” or higher on your first mowing there is a $25 minimum. If it takes over an hour to mow there is a $50 minimum. As much as we wish we could do all first services completely free, we have learned that these special circumstances require special deals.
How Do I get Credit for Those I Referred?
Let us know when you refer someone and have them mention you! If either of you mention it and they start a regular service with us, we will credit you $5 towards your next service.
What happens If I am Not Satisfied with My Service?
First of all. Woah. We hope this never happens! But, as everyone makes mistakes we know even we might do so every once in a while. Please, allow us time to correct the mistake, learn from what we did incorrectly, and then get back to making your yard/house a relaxing, stress free environment!
Why Does my Service Day Change?
Weather, added services, the media...ok, maybe not the media. But different circumstances can change how quickly we finish our regular schedules in a day. If there is a need for an exact date, we will try to accommodate, otherwise, you can be sure that we will do our best to keep it as consistent as possible.
